New demographics generator at the Eberron Journal

Inspired by the recent Dragonshards article, official forum member and Eberron expert Takasi has created a great new program to generate demographics for the world of Eberron. You type in a population number and the generator shows the breakdown of PC and NPC classes within a given region. It's now available in the Eberron Journal's Lore section. Try it out!

A closer look at The Queen With Burning Eyes

While it has been in subscribers' hands for a while, Dungeon #113 hit store shelves only recently. This issue features the Eberron adventure "The Queen With Burning Eyes" by James Wyatt.

The conclusion of the adventure is left open-ended, but if your game group is playing through the Queen With the Burning Eyes, you might want to see how the creator himself continued afterward. James posted this in his blog almost a month ago, but it's particularly relevant now.

For fun details from James Wyatt's D&D campaign, click below:

Some players, especially those who do not own a D&D Miniatures Entry Pack, may find the adventure's map difficult to use. For an alternate map, click below:

New translator on the Eberron Journal

The Eberron Journal's Lore page, a collection of fan-created Eberron content, has updated again. This time, it's with a "translator" that turns English into words that sound like the lanugage of Aerenal and Valenar elves. It features language work by Skye "Masterful Norg" Freeman and an impressive programming job by Oliver "Knight Otu" Frank.

New Drow details in WOTC article

The latest Elite Opponents article on the Wizards of the Coast Home Page reveals some new information about the mysterious drow.

According to the article in Eberron Drow have a unique bond with scorpions, not spiders.

To Quote:
"In the traditional settings of the Dungeons & Dragons game, the drow are closely associated with spiders. The Eberron campaign setting, however, associates dark elves with scorpions instead."

The article, written by Andy Collins then goes on to list a Drow Tauric Scorpion. The listing can be found near the middle of the article.

New Conversions and Lore Articles

The Eberron Journal updated today with new articles in its Conversions and Lore sections!

Complete Warrior Classes: Wondering how to place Complete Warrior classes and prestige classes in an Eberron campaign? Look no further than this article, which offers suggestions for making the Complete Warrior's generic classes Eberron-specific.

Complete Divine Classes: It may be a while before all the deities featured in the Eberron Campaign Setting book have official prestige classes. Why wait? Use the mechanics of classes from the Complete Divine with the flavor presented in this article and enjoy an extensive new set of options for players.

The Cult of Four: The "Complete Divine Classes" article features suggestions for pulling shugenjas away from their Asian roots and making them a secret society of element worshippers in Eberron. Use this organization to tie shugenjas together!

In addition to these great updates, we're in the process of revamping the site to shift our focus from previews to ongoing coverage. The left-hand navigation you see on this page will be the new standard for the entire site, and some older sections will be phased out. Stay tuned for more original content!

Another great fan-created map

Yesterday, the Breland Ledger reported the addition of an excellent map to Jhonen Olain's Eberron Journal, a PDF created by Kildaere. If you're looking for another option, though, look no further than a new map created by forum member Sebby.

Sebby's map is a large JPG image, suitable for printing on eight 8.5"x11" pages. It adds national borders, towns, and Lightning Rail lines to the map printed in the Eberron campaign setting book. The end result is a map that looks very much like the original maps it's based on.

The map is currently hosted at two sites. Click one of the links below to download it!

Korranberg Chronicle fan project underway

A group of Eberron fans at the official forums are embarking on a cool new project ...and it's not too late to join the team!

While nearly everyone who read the Eberron Campaign Setting book was left wishing for a virtual version of the Five Nations' most popular news source, a fan called Flamy (and his growing group of collaborators) is determined to make it happen. The Korranberg Chronicle is now under construction and writers are lining up to participate in the project.

Think you can write adventure hook-filled fiction while maintaining a journalistic style? If you're a skilled writer who's interested in contributing, check out the discussion that launched the project. Then head to the Yahoo! forum to offer your skills as a chronicler, or check out the framework that's currently being built for the site.

Fan creates comprehensive Khorvaire map

When the Eberron Campaign Setting book was released without an all-inclusive fold-out map, some fans were disappointed. The recently-released Dragon #113 featured a beautiful map of Khorvaire, but it showed only natural geography and the names of nations (as already seen in the middle of the Eberron Campaign Setting book). Eberron fans still wanted to see a map of Khorvaire that showed cities while linking Lightning Rail lines and roads.

The fans demanded it, so other fans worked to make it happen. The best of these efforts, by forum member kildaere007, is now featured on the Eberron Journal and several mirror sites. Click below to check it out!

Comprehensive Map of Khorvaire

A few fans have gone further with Kildaere's image, turning the PDF file into JPG format and even placing it into a ZIP file as 8 page-sized images. These are large files, so if you have trouble downloading the map from a particular site, try another. Whichever format you choose, enjoy the map and thank Kildaere here!

Religion Overview and Shadows of the Last War

The official Eberron homepage updated with two new articles over the Fourth of July weekend. Keith Baker turned in another Dragonshards article, the first in a series about religion. It begins by describing Eberron's religious traditions in general terms. The site also updated with a brief article announcing that the first published Eberron adventure, Shadows of the Last war, will be in stores this month.
